Activism bio (charitable work)
Dennis Weaver became a vegetarian in 1958 and has been an avid environmentalist for many years. He is the President and founder of the Institute of Ecolonomics which strives to combine enviromental ethics with economics in order to create a sustainable environment AND economy. He and his wife reside in Colorado and live in an "Earthship" , a home made entirely of recycled materials and which runs solely on renewable energy sources. He is on the Board of many organizations including Earth Communications Office (ECO). He also co-founded Love Is Feeding Everyone (LIFE) with Valerie Harper, which has provided food to the hungry for 17 years . In addition, Mr. Weaver is a former President of the Screen Actors Guild.
